Jennifer Mitchell, M.S.Ed., BCBA – Director
Jennifer Mitchell holds a Masters Degree in Intensive Special Needs with a concentration in Autism and a Georgia Teaching Certificate. She taught special education in the public schools for 7 years. She has been working with children with autism and related disabilities since 1993 and received formal training at the New England Center for Autism in Massachusetts. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has been providing consultation and direct therapy to children with autism and related disabilities.
Shauna Courtney, M.Ed., BCBA – Director
Shauna Courtney holds a Masters Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Autism/Emotional Disorders. She has been working with children with autism and related disabilities since 1994, receiving her training through various behavior analysts as well as attending workshops. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has been providing consultation and direct therapy to children with autism and related disabilities, focusing on intensive behavioral intervention.
Teaching and Therapy Staff
The staff at Summit Autism Center all hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. They all came to Summit Autism Center with experience with children with autism, and in most cases they have prior experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. All staff are trained on-site and receive daily supervision. All staff are working toward becoming Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
